Battleboards
Battleboards is a collaborative activity where students work in small groups to solve problems while competing against other groups. Each group shares one marker and takes turns writing while discussing strategies and solutions. The marker rotates each round so everyone participates. When a group believes they have the correct answer, they raise their hand to have it checked. This activity promotes teamwork, communication, and problem-solving while reinforcing key math concepts.

Student Made Anchors Of Support
Students created instructional posters to reinforce important math concepts and support classroom learning. One poster focused on perimeter and area, where students showed formulas and examples for calculating measurements of different shapes. Another poster focused on the four types of factoring, where students organized steps and examples for factoring polynomial expressions. This activity helped students think more deeply about the material while visually showing their understanding.

Student Warm Ups
At the beginning of each class, students complete a warm-up activity to help them transition into learning. The warm-up always begins with a short personal question that allows students to share something about themselves and build a sense of community in the classroom. After responding to the personal question, students move on to the academic warm-up, which reviews previous material or introduces a concept related to the day’s lesson. This routine helps students get focused, reflect on their learning, and prepare for the activities ahead.
